HONORABLE SOLDIER

“When I say to the Wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give
him no warning, nor speak to warn the Wicked from his wicked
way, to Save his life, that same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity;but his blood I will require at your hand. Yet, if you warn the Wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”
The Word of the LORD came to Ezekiel, saying, “Behold, all souls
are Mine;as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine:the soul that sins, it shall die. But if a Man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, and has not eaten upon the Mountains, neither has lifted up his eyes to the idols of the House of Israel, neither has defiled his neighbor’s wife, neither has come near to a menstrual woman, and has not oppressed any, but has restored to the debtor his pledge, has spoiled none by violence, has given his bread to the hungry, and has covered the naked with a garment; he that has not given forth usury, neither has taken any increase, that has withdrawn his hand from iniquity, has executed true judgment between man and man,has walked in My Statutes, and has kept My judgments, to deal truly; he is Just, he shall surely Live,” saith the Lord GOD.
“Have I any pleasure at all that the Wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and Live? But when the Righteous turn away from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and does according to the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done, shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them, shall he die. But when the Righteous turn away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die.

“Therefore, Son of man, speak unto the House of Israel; This you shall speak, saying, ‘If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then Live?’ Say unto them, “As I live,” saith the Lord GOD, “I have no pleasure in the death of the Wicked; but that the Wicked turn from his way and live: Turn, turn, from your evil ways; for why will you die, O’ House of Israel?” Therefore, Son of man, say unto the children of your people, “The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the Wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the Righteous be able to Live for his righteousness in the day that he sins.”

“When I say to the Righteous, that he shall surely Live; if he trusts his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousness shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the Wicked, you shall surely die; if he turns from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely Live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he committed shall be mentioned unto him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely Live.”
